Word count is calculated according to SDL Trados. The service is optimized for SDL Trados segmentation of the source document. TTMEM.com cannot guarantee identical segmentation in every CAT tool, because segmentation rules may differ. However, the created TMX file contains the source sentences and can be searched easily in your CAT tool using concordance search.
TMX quality depends on the nature of the text. Speedy Trans Tool generally works better with descriptive text than with isolated terms or very fragmented content. In both cases, it can still be a useful translation aid.
