Projekt powinien zapewniać utrzymanie głównych miejsc upamiętniajacych deportowanych i eksterminowanych, pomników - zazwyczaj budowanych w tych miejscach lub też dokumentacji archiwalnej tych tragicznych wydarzeń. Archiwa mogą zawierać zarówno dokumenty materialne, jak też niematerialne. jak np. świadectwa słowne. Projekt tym samym powinien zapewniać, że różne zeznania z przeszłości dostępne są dla obywateli Europejskich dzisiaj i/lub dla przyszłych pokoleń.The project should ensure the preservation of the main sites of mass deportation and extermination, of the memorials - most frequently built on those sites – or of the archives documenting those tragic events. The archives could include both material and immaterial documents, like the collection of oral testimonies. The project should thereby ensure that the different testimonies of the past are made available for today’s European citizens and/or for future generations.
Celem projeku powinno być zachowanie pamięci o ofiarach nazizmu czy też stalinizmu oraz o osobach, które w wysokim stopniu ryzykowały ratując ludzi od deportacji oraz przed eksterminacją. Projekt powinien mobilizować obywateli obecnych i przyszłych pokoleń, mając na uwadze upamiętnienie tych tragicznych wydarzń i ich ofiar. Na przykład, mógłby zakładać zebranie ludzi na ceremonię w miejscu upamiętniającym dane wydarzenie w jego rocznicę, lub też w dniu inauguracji budynku upamiętniającego. Mógłby także mieć na celu wzrost wiedzy jednostki, poprzez poszukiwanie czy też zasięganie informacji lub rozbudowanie dokumentacji dotyczącej ofiar. Projekt powinien mieć ściśle określoną grupę odbiorców i podejmować niezbędne środki w celu zagwartantowania efektywności przekazu. Obywatele powinni aktywnie brać udział w planowaniu, wdrażaniu i realizacji projektu.The project should commemorate the victims of Nazism or Stalinism, or of those who took important risks for rescuing people from deportation or extermination. The project should mobilise citizens, of all generations, with the aim of remembering those tragic events and the victims. For example, it could consist in bringing together people for a ceremony on a memorial site, on the occasion of an anniversary, or for the inauguration of a commemorative building. It could also aim at increasing the knowledge of individual destinies, through research or inquiries, or at developing documentation material about the victims. The project should clearly identify its target group and take necessary measures to ensure that the message is communicated effectively. Citizens should play an active role in the planning, implementation and follow up of the project.
