The Management board approves and monitors implementation of ECDC’s work programme and budget, it adopts its annual report and accounts --- all in all, it acts as the governing body of the Centre.	De raad van bestuur stelt het werkprogramma en de begroting van het ECDC vast en ziet toe op de uitvoering ervan. Hij stelt tevens het jaarverslag en de rekeningen van het Centrum vast. Kortom, de raad is het feitelijke bestuursorgaan van het Centrum.
As well as supporting ECDC ’s scientific work, the Advisory Forum is also a mechanism for exchanging information, pooling health knowledge and furthering public health cooperation.	Behalve het ondersteunen van de wetenschappelijke activiteiten van het ECDC, richt het Adviesforum zich tevens op het uitwisselen van informatie, het bundelen van kennis over gezondheid en het bevorderen van de samenwerking op het vlak van de volksgezondheid.
