For all EU Institutions and bodies, the European Data Protection Supervisor will act as an independent supervisory authority (see art. 41 to 48 of the Regulation).Voor alle instellingen en organen van de EU treedt de Europese Toezichthouder voor gegevensbescherming op als onafhankelijke toezichthoudende autoriteit (zie artikelen 41 tot en met 48 van de Verordening).
As a general principle, ECDC only processes personal data for the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest on the basis of the Treaties establishing the European Communities, on the basis of the relevant legislation or in the legitimate exercise of official authority vested in the Centre or in a third party to whom the data are disclosed.Het ECDC verwerkt als algemeen beginsel alleen persoonsgegevens voor de vervulling van taken van algemeen belang op grond van de Verdragen tot oprichting van de Europese Gemeenschappen, op grond van de relevante regelgeving of in de rechtmatige uitoefening van het openbaar gezag dat is opgedragen aan het Centrum of aan de derde aan wie de gegevens worden bekendgemaakt.
