Mrs. Jakab also played a key role in the negotiations leading up to the European Conference on Health and the Environment, held in Budapest in July 2004.Mevr. Born in 1951 in Hungary, Mrs. Jakab holds a Master’s Degree from Eötvös Lóránd University of Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Budapest, a Postgraduate university degree from the University of Political Sciences, Budapest, a diploma of the two foundation courses in public health at the Nordic School of Public Health, Gothenburg, Sweden (Public Health Sciences and Qualitative Methods/ Public Health Science and Epidemiology) and a postgraduate diploma from the National Institute of Public Administration and Management.Mevr. Jakab werd in 1951 geboren in Hongarije. Ze behaalde een masterdiploma aan de Eötvös Lóránd University of Sciences, Faculty of Humanities in Boedapest, een postdoctoraal diploma aan de University of Political Sciences in Boedapest, een diploma van de twee basiscursussen gezondheidszorg aan de Nordic School of Public Health, Göteborg, Zweden (Public Health Sciences and Qualitative Methods/ Public Health Science and Epidemiology) en een postdoctoraal diploma aan het National Institute of Public Administration and Management.
In October 2000, Mrs. Jakab was appointed Director of Administration and Management Support in WHO Europe being responsible for the work of the governing bodies of the overall strategic and operational planning, monitoring and evaluation; supervising the work of the WHO Collaborating Centres in Europe;In oktober 2000 werd mevr. Jakab aangesteld als directrice administratie en managementondersteuning bij de Europese afdeling van de WHO en werd ze verantwoordelijk voor de activiteiten van de bestuursorganen van de algemene strategische en operationele planning, opvolging en evaluatie; het toezicht op de activiteiten van de samenwerkingscentra van de WHO in Europa;
