Hello everyone! I'm Sebastiano, a native Italian and junior translator and a recent Master's graduate in Translation, eager to take my first steps in the industry and collaborate on global projects. My language combination are English, Japanese and German into Italian, and while I am still new to the professional market, my education gave me solid, versatile foundations. My academic journey focused on translation and adaptation of diverse contents – scientific, academic, technical and informative materials, audiovisual products, and miscellaneous literature. Adding up to this, I spent six months in Japan, studying at Kōbe University and immersing myself firsthand in Japanese culture and language. To bridge theory and practice, my university thesis focused on hands-on localization. I conducted a back-translation and comparative analysis of fairy tales from Japanese into Italian for my Bachelor's in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation. As for for my Master's Degree, I translated a contemporary manzai comedy sketch, focusing on the audiovisual localization and trans-cultural adaptation from Japanese into Italian. I am comfortable working with CAT tools and I am ready to bring my creativity, precision and passion for translation to your next project.
